Storify Team (“Storify”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) provides a digital reading platform that enables writers, publishers, and readers to distribute, access, and enjoy various literary works (“Work” or “Works”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your (“user”, “you”) access and use of the Storify website, mobile applications, and all related services (collectively, the “Platform”).

By accessing or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Platform.

The Platform may contain links or embedded materials directing you to third-party websites or services. Storify Team is not responsible for third-party content and disclaims liability arising from interactions with such services.

Storify Team reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time without prior notice. Your continued use constitutes acceptance of revised Terms.

1. Eligibility

1.1 You must be at least 13 years old to use the Platform.
1.2 By using the Platform, you confirm that:

  • You meet the minimum age requirement;

  • You are legally permitted to use the Platform under applicable laws;

  • You have not been previously suspended or removed from the Platform.
    1.3 If using the Platform on behalf of a group, project, or informal team, you represent that you have the authority to accept these Terms on their behalf.

2. License to Users

Subject to compliance with these Terms, Storify grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Platform for personal, non-commercial purposes.

All intellectual property rights associated with the Platform remain with Storify Team or the respective rights holders.

3. Registration & Accounts

3.1 Certain features require creating a Storify Account. You must provide accurate and updated information.
3.2 You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activities occurring under your Account.
3.3 You may delete your Account at any time. Deleting your Account may permanently remove your reading data, purchases, and content history.
3.4 Storify may suspend or terminate Accounts that violate these Terms or misuse the Platform.

4. Content Policy

Storify maintains a Content Policy aligned with applicable laws, digital publishing standards, and marketplace requirements (e.g., Apple App Store, Google Play). Storify may review, restrict, or remove content that violates policies or community guidelines.

5. User Content

5.1 Users may upload, publish, or submit materials including but not limited to stories, comments, text, images, and messages (“User Content”).
5.2 You retain ownership of your User Content.
5.3 By uploading User Content, you grant Storify Team a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to:

  • Host, store, display, reproduce

  • Transmit, distribute

  • Reformat or modify for compatibility
    solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Platform.

5.4 You also grant other users a non-exclusive license to access and use your public User Content according to Platform functionality.

5.5 You represent and warrant that your User Content:

  • Is owned by you or you have the right to use it;

  • Does not infringe copyrights, trademarks, or third-party rights;

  • Does not contain illegal, hateful, explicit, harmful, violent, or abusive content;

  • Does not involve minors in harmful situations;

  • Does not violate Hong Kong laws or laws applicable to your region.

5.6 Storify Team reserves the right to review, remove, or restrict User Content that violates these Terms.

5.7 Users may report infringing or harmful content for review.

6. Restricted Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Copy, distribute, or modify Platform materials beyond permitted use;

  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers);

  • Circumvent security features;

  • Interfere with or disrupt Platform operation;

  • Engage in unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive behavior.

7. Payment Terms

7.1 Some features require payment. All fees are shown prior to purchase and are non-refundable except where required by law.
7.2 Prices may be updated at any time.
7.3 Payments are processed by third-party providers such as Apple, Google, or payment gateways.
7.4 Depending on your region, additional taxes or currency fees may apply.

8. Disclaimers

8.1 The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available.”
8.2 Storify does not guarantee uninterrupted service or error-free operation.
8.3 Storify is not responsible for data loss, service delays, or device damage resulting from use.
8.4 Platform availability, performance, and content are not guaranteed.
8.5 Storify is not liable for external events beyond our control (“force majeure”).

9. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Storify Team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages.

  • If liability cannot be excluded, the total liability of Storify Team shall not exceed USD $500.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Storify Team from claims arising from:

  • Your use or misuse of the Platform

  • Violation of these Terms

  • Your User Content

  • Violation of applicable laws

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

13. Updates & Modifications
